Low-cost airline Wizz Air has confirmed plans to launch direct flights from Kyiv to German city Leipzig in July 2019. The service, which is set to begin on 5 July, will fly twice per week on Mondays and Fridays. Leipzig is the tenth German city to be added to Wizz Air’s portfolio of destinations from Ukraine. The airline currently offers Ukraine flights to 45 cities in 13 countries. Wizz air officials confirmed that the airline is experiencing prolonged growth in Ukrainian passenger numbers, with 450,000 passengers recorded so far this year by late March, representing an over 80% increase over the same period in 2018.
